Maria L. Orozco, D.C.
Dr. Orozco was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She grew up in the Little Village community, which is the largest Hispanic community in Chicago. As a child she participated in various Church events and sport groups. As an adolescent she mentored the youth in her community as well as took leadership roles in the youth sport groups. In her high school years she actively participated in various school organizations.
Dr. Orozco attended Loyola University where she received her Bachelors degree in Applied Psychology. She continued her studies and received her Bachelors degree in Human Biology. She attended the National University of Health Sciences (formerly National College of Chiropractic) where she mentored new students and worked as a teacher’s assistant. While a student she applied and was accepted for 2 positions in unique clinical settings. One setting was working with drug and alcohol rehabilitation patients and the other was working with HIV positive patients. The experience proved to be outstanding.
Dr. Orozco sat on the NUHS Alumni Association Board of Directors in 2003. Since 2004 Dr. Orozco has been a Board of Trustees for the National University of Health Sciences. Always active in building strong community relationships, Dr. Maria is also a board member for House of Refuge, on the pastoral council of Holy Cross Catholic Church, and a founding member of Million Dollar Ladies.
In 2000, Dr. Orozco established a Family Chiropractic Center in the Midway Airport area. Dr. Orozco continued to be part of NUHS by participating in the ambassador program where she would go to local High Schools and participate in the career days as well as speak at the local grammar schools about Chiropractic as well as educate on proper spinal hygiene.
Dr. Orozco moved to Arizona in 2005 with her husband and 2 sons. She established a Family Wellness Center with the mission of providing the community with the tools they need to identify stressors in their life and the underlying causes of their health challenges so they can make positive lifestyle changes and take control of their lives.
